Our latest warehouse enhancements drive value-added services for webbing customers
At Tennessee Webbing Products, we understand that surplus webbing can be a low-cost yet valuable component to many businesses using narrow fabrics. That’s why we go beyond simply offering storage and fulfillment services in our warehouse and instead provide value-added services that help our customers make the most out of their surplus webbing. Our latest warehouse enhancements offer a variety of benefits, from inventory control to on-time fulfillment, that make it easier to manage surplus webbing and maximize its value for our customers.
The Benefits of Surplus Webbing
With the global webbing market expected to reach USD 6.31 billion by 2029, the importance of providing quality narrow fabrics, especially aftermarket webbing, is more apparent than ever. Surplus webbing offers a range of benefits for businesses. First, it provides a cost-effective solution for any manufacturing application where narrow fabrics are used. This can help businesses save money and avoid delays in production. Second, surplus webbing allows for flexibility in customization. With a steady supply, businesses can experiment with different designs and applications without worrying about wasting materials. Finally, surplus webbing offers peace of mind. Knowing that there is a surplus supply readily available ensures that businesses can meet customer demands and deadlines with confidence. At TN Webbing, we understand the value of surplus webbing and provide the necessary services to maximize its benefits.
Challenges of Managing Webbing Inventory
Storing aftermarket webbing can pose a number of challenges in the warehouse environment. Webbing takes up a large volume of storage space and luckily, we’ve got that covered: our 100,000 square foot warehouse boasts more than 2,000 bin locations.
Additionally, receiving in bulk webbing that arrives packaged (or not) various ways can also be challenging. Webbing may arrive with only a T-pin holding the roll together. And, with a 200-meter roll of seatbelt webbing weighing approximately 27 pounds, that means if it drops off the edge of a pallet we would have to add staff hours to fix it.
These challenges can be overwhelming for businesses, but we are here to provide solutions and make the process easier.
Tennessee Webbing’s Value-Added Services for Webbing Customers
We offer a range of value-added services that go beyond simple warehousing and order fulfillment of webbing. Our goal is to help our customers make the most out of their surplus webbing and maximize its value. Our dedicated team ensures that our webbing inventory is properly protected, organized, and ready for use whenever you need it. With TN Webbing’s value-added services, you can confidently manage your surplus webbing and drive efficiency in your business.
New Warehouse Management System: Mobile Scanning, Inventory Management, and Demand Planning Improvements
In order to effectively manage all of our webbing stock, having an accurate and efficient inventory management system is essential. That’s why we recently upgraded our inventory management software to a new WMS (warehouse management system) that offers several benefits including:
- optimizing warehouse space utilization
- state-of-the-art barcode system using mobile scanners
- tracking and monitoring webbing inventory with precision
- real-time syncing with production, to provide better demand forecasting
- increased order fill rates and accuracy
Our new WMS allows us to have visibility into every inch of webbing in our warehouse, making it available to sell to our customers and easy to fulfill and ship orders. We are now able to pick orders in bulk, which is the most efficient use of our labor and resources.
As an example of the increased labor efficiency is described by our warehouse manager, Phillip Cook.
One of our warehouse team members moved 20 pallets in 56 minutes, which is more than 100% improvement in efficiency.
-Phillip Cook, Warehouse Manager
The WMS has allowed us to implement streamlined processes and a dedicated pick-and-pack team to ensure that webbing orders are shipped and fulfilled promptly and correctly. Most of our inbound shipments can be putaway in such a way as to be turned around quickly if they are a best-seller, saving time and resources.
After implementing a premium ERP software last year, the last piece of the puzzle for us was adding on the WMS module, giving full visibility into our inventory as well as giving real-time demand planning data.

Strapping Machines
Another value-added service is our new strapping machines. To preserve the value of the webbing we receive in, we have invested in strapping machines. Webbing that hasn’t been re-rolled is easier to handle which picking and packing, plus it makes it easier for our customers to handle when they receive their order.
Here’s the full list of our value-added services for webbing customers:
- 100% Satisfaction Guarantee
- Exceptional customer service
- Unmatched webbing inventory including surplus and first-quality
- An advanced Warehouse Management System (WMS), which utilizes industry-leading best practices to streamline warehouse operations, such as intelligent pick-and-pack procedures, handheld barcode scanning, cycle counting, and real-time interaction with shipping systems.
- Every incoming roll of webbing is strapped to ensure easy handling
- Superior sorting capabilities to separate webbing by correct color, pattern, and width of webbing (shown below)

As an example of sorting capabilities, we have warehouse staff responsible for sorting each grey into the correct shade and pattern.
In summary, to help our customers get the most out of their webbing, we offer value-added services in addition to just storage and fulfillment at our warehouse. The benefits of our most recent warehouse upgrades, which range from inventory management to timely fulfillment, make it simpler to manage surplus webbing and increase its value for our customers.
